NEWS
News acts as mirror to world. As
there are four directions, equally NEWS has four words denoting every
direction: N-North E-East W-West S-South. Online news or internet news exists
on the planet through World Wide Net. News is the communication of selected
information on current events which is presented by print, broadcast,
Internet, or word of mouth to a third-party or mass audience.
News is information about recent events or
happenings, especially as reported by newspapers, periodicals, radio, television
or Internet.
Commonly, news content should
contain the "Five Ws" (who, what, when, where and why) of an event.
There ought to be no queries remaining. Going online created more opportunities
for newspapers, such as competing with broadcast journalism in presenting
breaking news in a timelier manner. The credibility and strong brand
recognition of well-established newspapers, and the close relationships they
have with advertisers, are also seen by many in the newspaper industry as
strengthening their chances of survival. The movement away from the printing
process can also help decrease costs.
Online news is much like
hard-copy newspapers and has the same legal boundaries, such as laws regarding
libel, privacy and copyright, also apply to online publications in most
countries.
News is very important for modern
civilization. It is most commonly accepted as a record of the current events.
But the meaning and role of a newspaper are more than being a mere document of
events. News is a means of voicing the public opinion. All kinds of people read
it. Lawyers come to know the cases of social and political injustice through
newspaper. They express their opinion about those cases of injustice.
Businessmen read news and gather information's about trade and commerce in the
country and abroad. Students and teachers come closer to each other through
newspaper. News serves as a means of teaching and learning. Politicians find
news very useful for conveying their political message to the public.
The newspaper influenced the people and all
were united to fight independence. When news of corruption or crime published,
the police become active. The Government also pays attention to the news in the
newspaper. In case of public grievances, the Government sincerely tries to
redress them.
News is free from bias and
partiality. They should not try to satisfy the political party in power. News
acts as a strong opposition to strengthen democracy. Hope you like my words
about this article.
